Bienvenidos, SHPE Familia! It’s my pleasure to address our membership as the re-elected 2016-2107 chapter President. Your SHPE Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board of Directors (BOD) have been hard at work setting chapter goals, and planning this year’s activities. Our continued focus this year will be to increase the value of your SHPE membership by providing high quality networking, community outreach, and professional development opportunities.  The four pillars of SHPE are Professional Development, Community Outreach, Chapter Development, and Leadership Development and we plan to capitalize on each one of these focus areas with our planned events. Some of our high-level goals for the year include maintaining our annual student scholarship yield of $10,000, retaining our “Large” chapter status with a minimum of 50 members, and achieving new outreach targets of at least 500 students and 300 professionals for the year. In addition, we will continue to strengthen our SHPE regional college buddy system relationships, continue our strong performance with our three SHPE Jr. programs, improve awareness and external marketing of the chapter, and continue to grow our two large charity events – the Holiday Gala and Spring Golf Tournament. Please continue to support our chapter and help us make this a great year.
