On March 30-April 1, the SHPE LM Aero professional chapter hosted the SHPE Region 5 Leadership Development Conference (RLDC) in partnership with the SHPE Texas Tech student chapter at Texas Tech University; Lubbock, Texas. The purpose of RLDC is to offer professional, leadership and career development training to current and future SHPE executive chapter officers.  There was total attendance of 364 including 245 students, 37 corporate professionals, and 18 SHPE Jr. Pre-College high school students from across SHPE Region 5 including Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. This exceeded the RLDC5 planning committee expectations/goals by about 100 attendees. This is the chapter’s largest fundraising event.
