On Thursday, May 12th, the chapter held its final General Meeting for the 2015-2016 academic year. As a special treat, Mr. John Hernandez, President and CEO of the Fort Worth Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (FWHCC), made a guest appearance and spoke to those in attendance. Mr. Hernandez engaged the audience in several topics including what a chamber of commerce is, how it supports local businesses, and how he got involved with the chamber while transitioning from being a small business owner. Mr. Hernandez, an employee of the chamber, and an engineer from Multa Tech also used the opportunity to take a SHPE-led guided tour of the F-35 Production Line and discussed the chamber’s new Young Professionals of Fort Worth Program. The chapter looks forward to future activities with the FWHCC, sponsoring chapter members for the Young Professionals Program, and would like to thank Mr. Hernandez for taking the time to speak with us.
