On Saturday, February 6, 2016, seven SHPE LM Aero volunteers recently attended the Texas A&M University (TAMU) Junior College Day tour program on the Texas A&M University campus in the Emerging Technologies Building (ETB). The purpose of the event was to promote a STEM education and provide college preparation workshops. There were a total of 49 SHPE Junior high school students in attendance from all 3 SHPE LM Aero Junior chapters at Euless Trinity, Fort Worth Trimble Tech, and Fort Worth Northside high schools and SHPE TAMU Bryan Rudder High School.

The event was externally funded through SHPE National Advancing Careers in Engineering (ACE) Mini-Grant, SHPE Region 5 program accounts, and Euless Trinity HS SHPE Jr club on-campus fundraising. The event was even featured on the SHPE Region 5 and SHPE National social media as a model for what SHPE familia is all about between a professional chapter, college chapter and 4 local SHPE Junior high school chapters working together to organize a SHPE Junior College Day.
