Community Outreach: SHPE Jr. Year in Review

The first half of the SHPE year is coming to a close. SHPE LM Aero hosts 3 SHPE Junior chapters at Fort Worth Trimble Tech HS, Euless Trinity HS, and Fort Worth Northside HS. The SHPE Junior chapter program is a National initiative that is a monthly mentoring program where professionals go out to the schools for ~1.5 hours a month to promote Lockheed Martin, STEM awareness, and teach the students about college preparation funded by the U.S. Navy/NAVSEA. This year the students have learned hands-on design experience about “What is Engineering?”, Aerospace Engineering “The Plane Facts”, Mechanical Engineering “Stomp Rockets” activity, Civil Engineering “Bridge Building” activity,  Understanding college options/FAFSA workshop, a Noche de Ciencias at Trimble Tech HS.
